People had many questions about retirement in general and he wanted to answer their questions the best he could so he started learning more about retirement planning. In 2007 he transitioned away from long-term care to retirement planning. There are so many moving parts to the retirement planning process that it is overwhelming to handle anything else. Jason created a retirement planning software

There are 10,000 people each day that want to retire right now. But you can’t know how much you need to retire unless you know what your spending is first. Before you can begin the retirement planning process you have to know how much you will spend each month. Jason created RetirementBudgetCalculator.com as a tool that people can use to calculate how much they spend now and how much they will spend in retirement. This calculator is not designed to replace your traditional budgeting app or calculator, it is created to project how much you will need in the future. The single biggest financial decision you will make is to give up your income and transition into retirement so you need to be sure that it is the right time to do it. Do you have a good understanding of your spending? Do you know how much you will need each month in retirement?

What is the next question in the retirement planning process?

After they understand how much they spend, the next question Jason asks his clients is, what is the purpose of your money? This can be a confusing question for some but it is an essential question to understand how you want to spend your money. This question is a fundamental building block in the retirement planning process. You can’t put together a retirement plan without considering this question. Most people just want to have a good life and not be a burden to their loved ones. So what is the purpose of your money?

Your money represents untapped potential

Often in retirement planning, we focus too much on the balance statement or the ups and downs of the market. We don’t realize the untapped potential that our money really represents. Our money represents all the amazing things that we can do with it. We forget that it is just a tool to use to leave our legacy behind. When we manage our own money we can have a hard time seeing the big picture. A financial advisor helps us see the bigger picture and create a retirement plan. What will you do with the untapped potential of your wealth?
